In the morning, get in a Jeep to discover the Algarvian nature. We start by visiting the Natural Reserve of Castro Marim (called the ‘Sapal’), appreciate the Algarvian salt pans and drive to Cacela Velha, a beautiful coastal village, where you can have a stroll around.
We are then taken to Tavira.
There we board a boat that will take us on a discovery of the island complex called Ria Formosa, visit the oyster and mussel farms, sail along a couple of islands, the old tuna factories and see how octopus are caught the traditional way.
Back on land, we are driving through the hilly landscape to a magnificent dam (Barragem do Beliche), where you can taste traditional Algarve products in a wonderful setting, right next to the water. A delicious seafood lunch is also served here, and you can relax all afternoon.

10:00 AM– We arrive at Cacela Velha
10:45 AM – In Tavira, we catch a small boat to explore the Ria Formosa island system (Sta. Luzia/Tavira Island/Cabanas)
